Coming from Monefy
CAPITOR as a Monefy alternative — the same two-tap speed, plus the rest of your money
Monefy is good at exactly one thing: recording a purchase in two taps and showing where the money goes. CAPITOR keeps that speed and the same stance — no bank logins, data on your device — and adds what people usually go looking for a year later: a to-do list where a task can be a payment, net worth, goals, and habits that turn into savings.
What stays familiar
Fast entry, your data, no bank
Entry in seconds
- Type it as a sentence: "coffee 4" — amount and category are picked up
- By voice, recognised on the device
- Categories with colours and icons, budgets per category
Same stance on data
- No bank connection; nothing is fetched behind your back
- Works offline; no account required
- PIN and biometric lock
- Any currency, several at once, rates updated automatically
Sync, if you want it
- Cloud backup and sync between phone, browser and desktop — opt-in
- Family sharing for a household budget
- Export to CSV and PDF
What's added
The part a tracker leaves out
A task can be a payment
- Bills, rent and subscriptions are tasks on the calendar with an amount
- Tick one off — the transaction is written and the balance moves
- Priorities, projects, due dates; a journal for thoughts that aren't tasks yet
Net worth
- Accounts, deposits, property with an inventory, debts — one figure
- Debt payoff plan: snowball or avalanche
- Savings jars and a hundred goals for the year
Habits and understanding
- A quit habit becomes savings, with compound interest shown over years
- Financial health: what small things cost per year
- Statement import from CSV, Excel, pasted text or a screenshot
- AI insights — opt-in, only on what you send
Move your data
Bring your history with you
Step by step
- In Monefy, export your data to a CSV file (Settings → Export).
- In CAPITOR open Finance → Import statement and choose the file. CAPITOR reads CSV and Excel and looks for the date, amount and description columns.
- Check the preview: categories are suggested from the descriptions; anything already present is flagged as a duplicate.
- Confirm. Accounts you don't have yet are created on the way.
Category names come across as text; if you used custom icons or colours in Monefy, set them again in CAPITOR — a few minutes for a typical setup.
Honest bit
When Monefy is the better choice
Stay with Monefy if
You want only an expense tracker and nothing else on the screen — Monefy's single-purpose simplicity is the point, and CAPITOR has more screens by design. You rely on its Google Drive or Dropbox sync and prefer that over an app account; CAPITOR's sync goes through its own cloud, opt-in. Or you have years of history in Monefy and don't feel like moving it — that's a perfectly good reason.
Monefy's core is free with an optional paid upgrade for unlimited accounts, recurring transactions and advanced filters (as described on monefy.com at the time of writing). CAPITOR is free, with those features included; a paid Premium tier arrives in 2027 and the essentials stay free.
Monefy is a trademark of its owner; CAPITOR is not affiliated with it. Facts about Monefy are taken from its public website and may change.
